Born in Leping，Jiangxi province，Yuan is a master of Chinese ceramic art，a master of arts and crafts from Jiangxi，senior master of ceramic art，member of the Jiangxi branch of the Chinese Artists Association，member of Jiangxi Institute of Arts，member of Jingdezhen Ceramics Association，executive member of the Porcelain Art Professional Committee，president of Jingdezhen Zhushan Ceramic Art Institute，and member of the first，second，third，fourth，and fifth Zhushan District CPPCC Standing Committee. His works have always been rewarded，among which was the first prize in the Chinese Industrial & Technology Products Fair in 1992. In October 1999，his ceramic painting A Timely Snow Promises a Good Harvest entered the Beijing Art Exposition，was awarded，and was included in A Selection of Contemporary Chinese Arts in the Twentieth Century.
